Marshall V. Yount was born January 21, 1917. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree in 1938, and received his law degree in 1940. Marshall began practice in Hickory, North Carolina with his father in 1940. Marshall began practice in Hickory, North Carolina with his father in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 and concluded his service with rank of Captain. Upon discharge, he began his general practice in 1946 and continued through 1974 when he became senior partner in the firm of Yount & Walker. In 1999, he joined the firm of Sigmon, Clark, Mackie, Hutton, Hanvey & Ferrell, P.A. of Counsel specializing in estate planning and probate.
